Intervention

“Intervention” is an American documentary series that follows one or two participants who are dependent on or addicted to drugs and/or alcohol. These individuals are documented in anticipation of an intervention meeting by family or friends. During the intervention, loved ones give the loved one an ultimatum: either go to an inpatient drug rehabilitation program immediately or risk losing contact, income, or other privileges. The series provides an unfiltered look at addiction, including graphic substance abuse, and its impact on lives. It intercuts interviews with relatives and friends, highlighting the transformative power of community support and recovery and the hope for healing.
